Tending nestlings

This pair of Eastern Bluebirds tending to their brood in a house that we put up for them. The animated gif file was made by opening 10 image files as layers into Gimp then exporting to a gif file with the animation control selected. Bluebirds get busy during feeding time for their nestlings, and they fly repeating patterns to and fro the nest, so it is fairly easy to get pictures of them. In this particular series of pictures, I made it difficult for myself because I had the camera drive selector on single shot which makes it hard to get a good picture of a fast-moving bird. I like looking at this image and wondering where it starts and ends. Photography art to me is about having an image that I enjoy looking at. The process of creating the image is sometimes a chore, but it’s a chore that I can improve on so motivation to work the processes to achieve better results. I have a list of things to improve for my next image like this one. Starting with image quality settings in the camera to different drive settings and finally planning on the sequence of movements to make the image look more movie like. Fortunately, I don’t have to do any of that because I can just look at this image and enjoy it as is.
