The Sutphin Fountain

The Sutphin Fountain at Indianapolis Museum of Art on Thursday afternoon. I’d gone uptown to the Midtown Art Gallery to look at their exhibition for the month of June where one of my prints are included in the display. It makes me happy to be part of a show featuring work from artists throughout the Indianapolis area. Leaving there I stopped at Indianapolis Museum of Art to walk the grounds and maybe take some pictures. Turns out the Sutphin Mall and Fountain were the extent of my walk because entry elsewhere required purchasing a ticket which I wasn’t prepared to do. FYI, the entire facility is free to visit on the first Thursday of every month. This fountain is a nice study in symmetry. I think the trees were selected specifically for their size and shape to mirror the waters of the fountain. Not sure what the blocks represent but I love their placement in a circular pattern around the fountain. This scene says summer to me, and I hope that you and yours have a great summer. This image and others like it are available for sale in the Picturelongmont photography art gallery.
