Tangled up in blue

What I like about this image is the oddness about it. It is a ball of cones with glitter tassels all lit up on some kind of carousel stand. It rotated around so that each picture I took was a different view and I liked this one the best. I was shooting with my Fujifilm… Continue reading Tangled up in blue

Flowing east late afternoon

Westwood branch flowing east with late afternoon sun painting light on the ground around it. I like how the reflection at the far end draws my eye along the lines to the blue sky in the foreground. Opposite the normal way I think of ground to sky relationship. I like the warm glow of light… Continue reading Flowing east late afternoon

Come on down here

Get on down that road. But don’t worry about time or when whatever. Use your time. It’s really all there is. I know. Getting all philosophical here where we all know this is nothing but a photography blog. This dirt road in Boulder County was my daily. Get on down the road.

The vanishing point

Road, pike, lane, way, boulevard, ally, avenue, street, drive art since the first stone was cobbled. Symmetric perspective pulling the eye towards the vanishing point. In winter.

It’s the time of the season

It’s often a road construction up ahead that’s closing a lane for a ten-mile stretch. Summer is road construction season.

We’re leaving Ohio again

The sun always on the wrong side of the arch for photography when I approached it. Early in the morning driving east and late in the day driving west. Clouds or trucks. Either or both help make the picture interesting to me. I love the changing of seasons across the landscape of I-70. Spring summer… Continue reading We’re leaving Ohio again

Get out there

The world outside my door is largely a mystery to me. I’ve explored a few states and a couple countries but most of it only exists in pictures to me. The pictures of the world that other photographers make provide inspiration to me to expand my world.

Maybe, just maybe

I took photography class in high school. Taught by Mr. Johnson. Tall flamboyant man with bushy hair and long beard. He also taught history of the American west and others. Photography was Johnson’s class. He built a darkroom with light-trap doors, kept it stocked with chemical for film and paper processing, somehow collected enough fixed… Continue reading Maybe, just maybe

Remember the time it snowed the day after we moved to the new house? Yeah, that was nice.

We have all been here before

It’s all in a dream. Like a floating laugh. A space where time stops and I laugh out loud. For no reason.
