What will we do?

This crew is here, spending the day at the condo today. They’re a year older than in this picture from last year but really no change other than that. School is going to start up again at the end of the month so it’s time to enjoy this summer break and all the freedom from responsibilities that it has to offer. I love this image with so much action happening captured for a memory of that moment in time. I think photography was invented because of people’s growing understanding of optics, chemistry and light. Photography was made omnipresent because of marketing campaigns by Kodak, Ilford, Fujifilm and others. Those marketing efforts told us to preserve and share our memories for all times. So here we are some of us with boxes and albums full of prints, others with phone and computer disks full of image files that eventually get passed down to children not unlike these in this image. People that say, ‘what am I going to do with all this?’ I have more pictures than I’ll ever need. I like to make art with them and put them on the internet for the future people to say, ‘what are we going to do with all of this?’
