Gliding

We’d be on the lake dozens of times each year. Not so much for fishing because it’s so sensitive to movement makes it an unstable platform. But that very lightness makes it glide across the water with very little effort. We’d sneak up on flocks of pelicans to watch them run across the water as they stretched giant wings flapping to gain altitude to fly over us then circle around and land back on the spot where they’d started from. For these fellas it was the first time they’d ever been on the water. Their world got a little bit larger that day and I think the look on their faces tells it all.
