This image appeals to me. I like pictures that have symmetry about them, and this one does. We were walking along Magazine St. when I saw the fifth circuit court building and it appealed to me to take a picture of it.

We will live on

Downriver from New Orleans in Chalmette is the site of the January 8, 1815, Battle of New Orleans: Chalmette Battlefield. This tree mostly broken and missing, sprouts new branches from an old wound and says to me against a darkened sky “we will live on”.
