Some Aspens

The following essay for today’s image was generated by ChatGPT Photography, the art of capturing moments frozen in time, holds a special place in the hearts of countless individuals. It is a medium through which we can express our emotions, share our perspectives, and weave stories that transcend mere words. Each photograph possesses a unique… Continue reading Some Aspens

Lavanda Casa

This scene is at the Lavanda Casa de Te in Frutillar Chile. It took us two hours to get there when it turned out to be fifteen minutes from our starting point. We asked for directions to the Lavender farm, and I think people thought we were asking for directions to a laundromat. I’ve seen pictures where the plants are bright purple color but on the day we were there the plants were a grey like color. I like how the row of grass between the lavender leads my eye up the hill and makes me wonder what’s over the horizon.

Summertime scene

A study of blue and green with some clouds mixed in. Blue sky days have been few and far between recently making it a delight when we get one. The subject in this image is the blue sky providing a background for some nice cloud action and summertime tree canopy. The scene is easy to look at and brings thoughts of summer to mind.

The canvas print

I like to edit an image using different filters and different cropping lines to make multiple images from a single photograph. The canvas filter was used to make this image. Printing images on canvas can give a similar effect.

Peaceful lake scene

I love the two layers of clouds that surround Volcán Osorno in this scene. That and the balance of elements in threes. The sky, mountain, and water balance with the two trees in the foreground and the outcropping of land along the shoreline. This image would look great printed and displayed on a wall in a children’s room where it would give a sense of wonder to those who view it.

A crisp March morning

Story generated by ChatGPT On a crisp March morning, as the first rays of the sun pierced through the clouds, casting a golden hue upon the earth, I found myself standing on the shores of a serene lake in the captivating Chilean Lake Region. The air carried a slight chill, invigorating my senses and filling… Continue reading A crisp March morning

The E Type monochrome

The Jaguar E Type. This one photographed with very shallow depth of field and a grainy film simulation that makes the hood and front bumper the focal point of the image. I like the very subtle reflection of the right front wheel on the ground under the car. I like the singular windshield wiper in the up position, a sign of a mechanical system that is not quite right but it’s on the passenger side so it’s ok. With their large panels of reflective paint, cars can be challenging to photograph. The reflections down the left side of this car help to show off the curves of the E Type design. A design that in my opinion is pleasing to look at and fun to photograph.

Just look at it

This is a repeat of subject but with different editing done to it. I like this image better than the other that I made a couple weeks ago. This looks like a fairly recent model, possibly a 389 Peterbilt. I’m a fan of the big trucks but not an expert when it comes to accurately identifying the make and model of what I’m looking at. I like the gray scale image because I think it does a better job of hiding the washed-out sky. I can use a selection tool in editing to change the sky, but I did not do that to this image. It can be tedious to select parts of an image to affect change and I mostly elect not to do the work. There are new breeds of AI assisted editing tools that claim to use ‘smart selection’ and correction, but I haven’t tried them out yet. I have been working with chat.openai for writing and it is fun to see what it does, almost immediately, with what I’ve written in like fifteen minutes. So that’s pretty much the story on this image of the Peterbilt. I like trucks, I like going to a truck show, been there, done that and here’s a nice picture of a truck for us all to look at.

As generated by ChatGPT (openai.com) : The heavy rain poured relentlessly, drenching the landscape in a gray haze. It was on this gloomy day that I stumbled upon a photograph that caught my eye, capturing the essence of power and strength in the form of a massive truck. This image resonated with me more than… Continue reading Just look at it

An internal code

Painted on the inside of passenger door of a big truck.

The Outlaw’s Legacy (as generated by https://chat.openai.com/) In the dusty town of Redwood, there lived a man named Samuel. With his weathered face and piercing gaze, he embodied the essence of an outlaw. People whispered tales of his audacious exploits, yet few truly understood the distinction between an outlaw and a criminal. Samuel knew the… Continue reading An internal code

From the phone

Layers of light in leaves. This is same subject taken from same location as the picture from two days ago, but this was taken with the iPhone 12 and the other image was made with the Fujifilm X-T3. The phone picture contains much less data but I don’t notice when viewed at this size.

Layers of light

The layers of light are what appeal to me in this image. But then across the bridge there is only one small area of light in the otherwise dark woods. What’s back there? I don’t know. Am I looking through a window? It doesn’t matter. Just enjoy the view for what it is. Layers of… Continue reading Layers of light
